On April 9, 2024, Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province, the upgrading and renovation project of Panchang special primary rolling production line, which was contracted by MCC Huatian General contract, was successfully completed, marking the formal application of the first large-size bar and flat steel composite production line in China.

Leading technology and setting records

Panchang special rolling line upgrading project is the key project of the Great Wall special steel industry upgrading and transformation of Panzhihua Steel Group and the core technical transformation project of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the process is extremely complex, its core equipment is the first at home and abroad, and the technologies are in the world's leading position, creating three domestic and foreign "the most" : The blooming mill reaches the world's maximum rolling force, the hydraulic shear reaches the domestic maximum shear force, and the finishing mill is the world's largest short-stress mill, which has significant industry reference value.

Exquisite workmanship sets the benchmark

The technology is no less advanced, and the specific processes of the blooming mill, hydraulic shear and finishing mill are equally excellent, achieving the expected goals and setting the industry benchmark in one fell swath:

Blooming mill -- the first self-developed and designed rolling mill in China, with a single-side rolling force of up to 1500 tons, roll diameter of 1350 mm, roll neck of 750 mm, is the largest new-generation billet unit in the production line of tool and die steel at home and abroad, which can fully meet the rolling requirements of various varieties; Hydraulic shear -- the first hydraulic shear independently developed and designed in China, using the oblique cutting mode, the maximum opening degree of 450 mm, the maximum shear section of 370*370 mm /730*230 mm, the shear force of 1500 tons, ranking first in the country; Finishing mill - the first self-developed and designed finishing mill in China, roll diameter 950 mm, roll neck 500 mm, is the world's largest short stress mill, not only to meet the larger rolling force, but also to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the finished product, reduce the roll bounce during the rolling process, and keep the final "pass" of the finished product rolling.

Overcome difficulties and forge ahead

The project faced various difficulties in the construction process, especially in accordance with the technical requirements of the rolling line cold bed and the collection area of the two plants for pumping columns, but the old plant has been used for 50 or 60 years, there are security risks and drawings are missing, which is undoubtedly a great test of the design ability. To this end, the MCC Huatian project team carefully designed the pumping column scheme, reinforced the remaining structure, and increased the load above the joist support at the pumping column position to ensure the overall safety and stability of the structure after pumping the column; Considering that the old factory building is sensitive to settlement, after repeated checking analysis and full discussion, the traditional steel joists are replaced by concrete joists. The concrete joists have the advantages of small deflection and convenient construction, which not only saves the project cost, but also shortens the construction period.
